A free event for any occupational therapy practitioners, students, educators, managers, researchers wanting to explore sustainable practice.

Event Page

Sustainable occupational therapy practice means using resources to deliver healthcare today without compromising the health of current or future generations. The climate emergency is a health emergency, and as a result, addressing climate change has been described as the greatest health opportunity this century.  

In 2012, the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) stated that occupational therapists need to “re-evaluate practice models and expand clinical reasoning about occupational performance to include sustainable practice.”  

Come along to this global networking event and meet other occupational therapists who would like to practice more sustainably. The Zoom call is at the same time on the first Monday of each month. All are welcome.

Kelly Carlson will be hosting an informal OTEA meeting on Thursday, June 23 starting at 4:30pm PST / 5:30pm MST / 6:30pm CST / 7:30pm EST for 1.5 hours. This meeting will serve as a space for better getting to know other members of the OTEA community and discussing any ideas/thoughts related to OT and sustainability.
